Client Choice Food Pantry
MDCS offers the opportunity for eligible clients to actually "shop" for food and personal care items of their own preference on a monthly basis. This food is supplemented by the TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program), as well as fresh milk, eggs, and meats when available. Clients who do not have the time to shop, can always choose to pick up a pre-packed monthly food basket.

Individuals and families are eligible to access the client choice pantry twice a month and receive a 3-5 day supply of food consisting of locally donated, purchased and federal surplus donated food items.

"Door to Door" Food Delivery
MDCS works with homebound seniors, people with disabilities or without transportation in our service area who would benefit from a delivery of nutritious groceries and personal care items on a monthly basis. Volunteers deliver the groceries. We will continue to check in on needs with our home delivery clients to ensure they have access to resources they need.

Lunch and Learn
MDCS in partnership with the Highland Activity Center to host a monthly lunch and learn program that is not only open to seniors, but to all of our clients and any member of the greater Highland community. This program ensures that clients receive a meal, as well as an opportunity to become educated on a wide variety of topics including nutrition, health education, current events and local politics as well as topics related to budgeting and access to community resources. It also provides a sense of community for many of our clients who experience loneliness and a sense of disconnection.

Pop-Up Distributions
In addition to our regular service hours, we host a monthly distribution at the Pine Grove Presbyterian Church in Airville, PA on the first and third Thursdays each month. Distribution starts at 1:00pm and ends at 3:00pm. No appointment is needed.

MDCS will occasionally host a pop-up distribution in various locations. The dates, times and locations will be posted on our Facebook page.
