IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING SNAP (FOOD STAMPS) BENEFITS DURING THE GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN:
The USDA has notified states that February SNAP benefits will be fully funded. However, this funding will be placed on EBT cards earlier than usual and will occur any time between now and January 20. It is important to note that THIS ALLOCATION IS NOT EXTRA FUNDING FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY.
THIS FUNDING IS TO BE USED FOR HOUSEHOLD FOOD NEEDS DURING THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY. Please budget your SNAP benefits carefully.
MDCS is closely monitoring the government shutdown and its possible effects on our clients and the communities that we serve. We will do everything possible to keep you up-to-date on developments as we learn of them.
